Overview

Managed Service Providers (MSPs) may use the Scout Enterprise Management Suite with the option of flexible billing of license fees as required. There is no need to enter license keys. Instead, the number of effectively managed devices is billed in retrospect. To do so, the Scout Server performs a monthly reporting of the devices managed by Scout to the myelux myelux service portal.

As a Managed Service Provider, you will receive activation as a MSP for your myelux account as part of a contractual agreement with Unicon or via a corresponding order via myelux service portal. This allows you to install the Scout Enterprise Management Suite as a fresh installation in MSP mode. As soon as your MSP account on myelux is active, new devices can on-board independently of licenses.

The required quantity of licenses does not have to be estimated and ordered in advance but can be identified, reported and invoiced in an automated process on a monthly basis. Alternatively Scout MSP licenses with a fixed validity persiod can be ordered via myelux service portal. It is no longer necessary to acquire license certificates and enter license keys in the Scout Console prior to operating devices in the infrastructure.

Management of multiple client infrastructures

Service providers may manage infrastructures for multiple customers in parallel. Each customer can connect and manage a flexible number of devices through the Scout Enterprise Management Suite. The number of managed devices is charged to the customer on a reporting basis after each month.

In the Scout Console, each customer is defined as a tenant by the MSP and the customer devices are assigned to the corresponding tenant.

License accounting between the service provider and Unicon is automated on a monthly basis for all managed devices. For the service provider's license billing to its customers, the total number of managed devices is broken down into the number of managed devices per base OU.
